Woman charged after shoe beating death

A New York woman whose ex-boyfriend died after she beat him with one of her high-heel shoes has been charged with manslaughter, police said today.

Roosevelt Bonds, 51, died on Saturday after the brawl outside a Brooklyn nightclub. Anna Rhinehart, 40, apparently knocked him down and hit him repeatedly with the shoe, officers said.

The two had a child together, but their relationship had recently become strained, they added.

A spokeswoman for the city medical examiner said Bonds died of chest compression and blunt trauma to the head, neck and torso.
