German peacekeeper killed in Afghanistan

A German peacekeeper was killed today when his vehicle hit a land mine near Kabul, the Afghan capital .

The soldier was travelling on a road about 10 miles from Kabul, said Lieutenant Colonel Paul Kolken, a spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force.
