One dead as aftershock rattles Algeria

A strong aftershock rocked the quake-ravaged zone east of Algiers today, killing at least one person and injuring 56 others, Algeria’s Information Ministry officials said.

Algerian geological officials said the aftershock had a magnitude of 5.8 and was the strongest of several to hit the area since last Wednesday’s quake.
