A Japanese newspaper president is taking a pay cut after Jordanian prosecutors charged one of his photographers with manslaughter.

Akira Saito, president of the Mainichi Shimbun, said he will forego his executive allowance for an indefinite period to take responsibility for the incident as the newspaper’s top manager.
