Strike strands thousands of Paris commuters again

Tens of thousands of commuters struggled to get to work in Paris for a second day today as a huge public sector strike brought trains and the underground to a near standstill.

As people flooded the city’s pavements or drove to work, Paris underground operator RATP said traffic in the capital “should improve during the day.”
