US soldier killed in Baghdad

An American soldier was killed today in a shooting on a Baghdad bridge.

The soldier, from the 2nd Armoured Cavalry Regiment, was killed when an Iraqi walked up to him and opened fire with a pistol, said senior army officers in the Iraqi capital.
