Zimbabwe’s police chief has been appointed honorary vice-president of international crime-fighting body Interpol.

Zimbabwe’s police chief has been appointed honorary vice-president of international crime-fighting body Interpol, it emerged today.

Police Commissioner Augustine Chihuri is one of the group of close associates of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe who are subject to EU and US travel bans because of allegations of vote-rigging and human rights abuses in the southern African state.
