Russian deserter runs out of steam

A Russian army deserter commandeered a petrol tanker and led police on a wild chase through Moscow today before crashing into a steamroller that had been erected as part of a barricade.

Police spotted the tanker heading for the capital on a major road, and ordered it to stop.
