Anglican bishops joined calls for the Queen’s representative in Australia to resign today, only hours after prime minister John Howard met the monarch in London.

Howard also was criticised for ignoring public condemnation of Governor-General Peter Hollingworth’s role in allowing paedophiles to continue working in the Anglican Church while he was a senior cleric in the 1990s.
