Anti-tank rifle handed over in UK weapons amnesty

A six-foot anti-tank rifle was the latest deadly weapon to be surrendered to police today as part of a UK-wide gun amnesty.

The First World War weapon, weighing well over a hundredweight with a barrel diameter of more than an inch, was handed over to a Scottish police force with just over a week left of the month-long amnesty.
