At least 55 die in Bangladesh ferry disaster

A river ferry packed with more than 300 passengers sank in a tropical storm in Bangladesh today, killing at least 55 people including women and children, authorities said.

Rescue workers were searching for about 250 people still missing after the double-deck ferry capsized in the Buriganga River near the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka.
