Arab kings call for Iraqis to regain power
The kings of Bahrain and Jordan today urged the US and British forces in Iraq to swiftly hand over the government of the country to the Iraqi people.
After talks in Bahrain that focussed on the future of Iraq, the Bahraini monarch, Sheik Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and King Abdullah II of Jordan called for measures to ”guarantee security and stability in the country”. The comment was a reference to the widespread looting that has occurred since the coalition forces captured Baghdad and other cities in the past seven days.
