Call to protect war journalists

Media organisations today called on all sides in the war in Iraq to respect the work of journalists and to protect them.

Ten journalists have died in the fighting and two are still missing. The majority have been television cameramen and reporters. All of them were veterans of other conflicts, the organisations said.
