Marines face thousands of fighters: report

In eastern Iraq near Kut, US Marines said they were facing as many as several thousand Islamic fighters from various Arab countries, possibly including members of the al-Qaida terror network, The New York Times reported.

“These are the kind of guys who want a one-way ticket to Allah,” one officer said.
