We'll give power to Iraqis, vow Bush and Blair

US President George W Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair pledged today to hand over power in Iraq to the Iraqi people as “swiftly as possible”.

The President and the Prime Minister, meeting at Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland, agreed there would be a “vital role” for the United Nations in the post-war reconstruction of Iraq.
