Journalists hurt in Baghdad hotel
Three journalists were hurt today in a blast at Baghdad’s Palestine Hotel, the base for most foreign correspondents in the Iraqi capital.
According to reports, the explosion hit an upper floor of the high-rise building. At least two reporters were taken to hospital.
It appeared rounds fired during clashes between US troops and Iraqi defenders elsewhere in the city might have struck the building.
The hotel is on the eastern side of the River Tigris, and two US tanks were reported to have crossed a nearby bridge early today.
It's understood it was the Reuters office that was hit.
