Eight die in Mexico tenement fire

Mexican authorities believe arsonists started a fire that swept through a tenement in one of Tijuana’s poorest neighbourhoods, killing eight people and critically injuring two others.

Police arrested four people after witnesses said they saw the group milling around the building in a suspicious way just before the fire broke out shortly after 6.30am local time yesterday.
