New bid to kill Saddam and sons

Air strikes were continuing today over Baghdad as US officials revealed a renewed attempt had been made to kill Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.

Machine gun fire and explosions were heard in the capital following the bombing of a residential complex in the city in the hope of killing Saddam.
