Philippines blast kills at least six
At least six people have been killed today in a large explosion in the southern Philippines.
Many other people were injured by the blast in Davao, the military said.
Local radio said a bomb went off in the city’s wharf area at about 7pm (12pm Irish time). A reporter at the scene said rescuers were carrying away the injured.
A bomb explosion on March 4 killed 21 people outside Davao airport. Arrest warrants have been issued for leaders of the Muslim separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front, who were blamed by the army for that attack.
