War in Iraq: facts and figures

Casualties: Among US troops, 42 dead, seven captured, 17 missing, according to US military officials and relatives. Among British troops, 25 dead, none missing or captured.

Deployed: 290,000 coalition forces are deployed in support of combat operations. Close to 100,000 US troops are now in Iraq. Also deployed are 45,000 British troops, 2,000 Australia troops, 400 Czech and Slovak troops, 200 Polish troops . Nearly 100,000 more US forces on the way.
