Britain and France have put their names to a draft resolution to restart the oil-for-food programme in Iraq in an apparent sign of a thawing of cross-Channel relations, it emerged today.

Britain and France have put their names to a draft resolution to restart the oil-for-food programme in Iraq in an apparent sign of a thawing of cross-Channel relations, it emerged today.

Downing Street said the resolution was put to the UN Security Council in New York last night and was expected to be discussed by member states today.
