Guerilla tactics threathen Allied advance
Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein is using guerrilla tactics to slow the coalition advance, putting elite fighters in civilian clothes, conning US troops with fake surrenders and employing human shields, US and British officials said today.
The strategy appears designed to allow coalition forces to advance quickly and overextend their line – they were less than 100 miles from Baghdad four days into the ground war – only to be attacked from the rear.
