RAF duo killed by US patriot missile

An RAF pilot and his navigator were killed today when a US Patriot missile battery shot down their Tornado warplane as it flew back to Kuwait from a mission over Iraq.

A statement from the RAF base at Marham, Norfolk, said the men were dead. It did not identify them.
