Blast heard at central command

An explosion was heard outside the Gulf headquarters of US Central Command in Qatar today.

The cause was not immediately known.

Spokesman Lt Mark Kitchens said officials were investigating the blast, which appeared to have come from the front gate area.

“We heard a loud bang, we don’t know the cause at this time and we’re investigating,” he said.
