French President Jacques Chirac today said France would not go along with a new United Nations resolution that would allow the United States and Britain to administer post-war Iraq.

French President Jacques Chirac today said France would not go along with a new United Nations resolution that would allow the United States and Britain to administer post-war Iraq.

Speaking at a European Union summit in Brussels, Chirac said he would “not accept” a resolution that “would legitimise the military intervention (and) would give the belligerents the powers to administer Iraq.”
