Allied warplanes attack weapons targets

British and US warplanes were tonight in action against Iraqi weapons systems in the southern “no fly” zone, the British Ministry of Defence has said.

A MoD spokeswoman described the patrols as “standard ‘no-fly’ zone activity”.
