Blix saddened by failure of weapons inspections

The Chief weapons inspector has told the United Nations Security Council he is saddened that his staff have been forced to pull out of Iraq.

Hans Blix has praised the Iraqi authorities for allowing them to leave unhindered with their equipment intact, although some had been left behind sealed at the UN headquarters in Baghdad.
