Cambodia and the UN will miss “the last chance” to try Khmer Rouge leaders for crimes against humanity unless they ratify an agreement to establish a genocide court, the UN legal chief warned.

Under-Secretary-General for legal affairs Hans Corell called for quick ratification of the 17-page agreement creating a UN-assisted tribunal so the aging leaders of the radical communist group that held power from 1975-79 can be tried before they die or become too infirm.
