New cases confirmed of highly infectious form of pneumonia

Doctors at Frankfurt’s University Clinic today confirmed that a Singaporean doctor and his wife have contracted a highly infectious form of pneumonia declared a global threat by the World Health Organisation.

The 32-year-old doctor and his 30-year-old wife, who is pregnant, and the woman’s mother have been quarantined since they were taken off a Singapore Airlines flight from New York that arrived in Germany on Saturday.
