Honduran shooting suspect held
A Honduran man suspected in the kidnapping and shooting death of the son of Honduras’ president was arrested in the US, federal and local authorities said.
Nary Anibal Sanchez-Carbajal, 31, was being held in the Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville, about 50 miles west of Richmond, Virginia, Tony Wilks of the federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement said.
Sanchez-Carbajal is a suspect in the 1997 abduction and killing of Ricardo Ernesto Maduro, 24.
The victim was the son of Ricardo Maduro, a businessman who was elected president on a tough anti-crime platform in 2001.
