Blair arrives for 'crisis' summit on Iraq
British Prime Minister Tony Blair today arrived in the Azores for a last throw of the diplomatic dice over Iraq, meeting key allies President George Bush and Spain’s Jose Maria Aznar.
Mr Blair’s official spokesman acknowledged there was now a full-blown diplomatic “crisis” and seemed to signal that war was all but inevitable by making clear the premier wanted to discuss with fellow leaders the status of Iraqi oil proceeds in a “post conflict” situation.
