Germany calls on its nationals to leave Iraq

The German foreign ministry today said it was calling on all Germans to leave Iraq ”immediately” and would close its embassy in Baghdad following the departures.

“German citizens in Iraq are advised to leave the country immediately,” the Foreign Ministry in Berlin warned in a travel advisory.
