Pakistan confirmed today it will abstain from voting in the UN Security Council on an Anglo-American resolution approving war with Iraq.

Pakistan holds one of 15 seats at the council. At least nine countries must approve the measure for it to pass. Permanent members Russia and France have already said they will veto any resolution
