A report that two of Osama bin Laden's sons have been wounded and captured in Afghanistan, still hasn't been confirmed.

Pakistan's provincial home minister Sanaullah Zehri says Saad and Hamza bin Laden were arrested on Thursday in Rabat, south-western Afghanistan, in a joint operation involving Pakistani and US forces.

But White House spokesman Ari Fleischer has cast doubt on the claims, saying: "We have no information to substantiate that report."

And Colonel Roger King, a US military spokesman at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, says he cannot confirm reports about bin Laden's sons and denies US and other coalition forces are involved in any operation in Rabat.

A Downing Street spokesman said: "We have seen the reports but have no comment at this time."

The Foreign Office also had no comment.
