Bali bombing trials delayed until next month

The first trials in the Bali nightclub bombings have been delayed until next month, Indonesian police said today.

More than 200 people, including 32 British holidaymakers, were killed in the October 12 attack on the tropical resort island.

Twenty-nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the blasts, but Bali Chief of Police Major General Budi Setiawan said prosecutors needed more time to study the evidence.

All the suspects face the death penalty if convicted. Jemaah Islamiyah, a regional terror group linked to al-Qaida, has been blamed for the attack.
