Greece: 14 die as bus plunges from bridge
At least 14 people, including two children, died when a bus plunged over the edge of a bridge in northern Greece today.
The bus, believed to be carrying a total of 28 people, skidded on the main north-south highway about 30 miles south west of Thessaloniki and plunged from a span more than 33 feet over a river.
The bus was on an overnight journey from Thessaloniki to Athens.
The reason for the crash was not immediately known.
Media reports said two children and the bus driver were among the dead.
Greece has been gripped by an unusual cold spell for several weeks with snow in many areas and flooding that has damaged roadways.
