The EU today cancelled a summit with African leaders because of a disagreement over whether to invite blacklisted Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe.

Britain, the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden had strongly opposed inviting Mugabe to the April 5 summit in Lisbon. African nations had indicated they would stay away if Zimbabwe were excluded.
