Man arrested after woman's body found at hotel
A 28-year-old man was arrested today after the body of a woman was discovered in a hotel room.
Detectives launched a murder inquiry after being alerted by staff at the Rama Hotel in Belgrade Road, south-west London, who found the body this afternoon.
It is believed the woman, who has yet to be formally identified, may have been a tourist aged about 25.
An incident room is being set up and a post-mortem examination will be held at midday tomorrow at Westminster mortuary.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Officers attended and were told that the body of a woman aged approximately 25 years had been found in one of the rooms.
"She was confirmed dead at the scene."
He added: "We are not prepared to speculate on a possible cause of death prior to the post-mortem."
The man was arrested after surrendering himself to police in Brighton. He is expected to be brought to London tomorrow.
