Sharon wants unity government in Israel

Victorious Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said tonight he would try to establish a broad-based coalition that would include the defeated Labour party.

However, Sharon did not mention Labour by name and did not offer any policy incentives that might persuade Labour to renege on its campaign promise not join a Sharon-led government.
