Crash kills at least 70

At least 70 people have been killed when two buses collided on the main road linking the Cameroon’s capital Yaounde to the port city of Douala, hospital staff said today.

“Some of the bodies that were recovered had no heads, while others were limbless – it was truly horrifying,” a local doctor said.

The accident happened last night near Edea town, about 170 miles southwest of Yaounde. The two buses were carrying almost 100 passengers between them, witnesses said. Three other cars then crashed into the wreckage.
