US bombs Iraqi air defence site

US warplanes today bombed an Iraqi air defence site, the 12th strike in the southern no-fly zone this month, military officials said.

The planes used precision-guided bombs to target an air defence command and control site near Al Haswah at about 7.30pm GMT, US Central Command said in a statement.
