Colombian rebels kidnap journalist

A British newspaper reporter and an American photographer have been kidnapped by Colombian rebels, the first foreign journalists to be abducted in recent memory in the country’s long war.

Briton Ruth Morris and Scott Dalton, 34, from Texas have been “retained” by the National Liberation Army, or ELN, the guerrilla group said in a statement today on a clandestine rebel radio station.
