Saddam not losing any sleep over crisis

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has boasted that he is not losing any sleep over the American war machine gearing up around him.

“I fall asleep as soon as I put my head on the pillow,” he told the official Iraqi News Agency. “I can assure you and put your minds at ease that I rarely find it difficult to sleep.”

The 65-year-old dictator, who was addressing senior army officers, said sometimes he does have trouble nodding off, but not because of the published reports that SAS troops, US special forces and CIA agents are in Iraq looking for him and his hideouts.

“I sometimes can’t sleep when there is an idea going around in my head that I haven’t put on paper,” he said, “but I fall asleep as soon as I’ve got up to write it down.”
