Authorities prepare to evacuate Australia's capital

Thousands of Australian residents have been put on evacuation alert as rising temperatures and dangerous wind gusts pushed a fire storm closer to the national capital.

The flames have killed four people and razed 419 homes in Canberra in the last four days.
