The UN’s nuclear agency went into emergency session on the North Korea crisis today and an official said they would give the rogue state a final chance to abandon its covert weapons programme and readmit inspectors.

Resisting pressure to report Pyongyang’s defiance to the UN Security Council, the International Atomic Energy Agency was instead considering a draft resolution urging North Korea to comply with its obligations under global nuclear accords.
