Quake shakes Athens
A small earthquake shook the Greek capital, Athens, today but there were no reports of damages or injuries.
The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the quake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale, happened at 12.34pm (9.34am Irish time).
Its epicentre was a few miles north of the city centre.
A quake of magnitude 4 to 5 can cause moderate damage in populated areas.
An earthquake of a magnitude between 2.5 and 3 is the smallest generally felt by people.
