Bristol police set up a murder incident room today after the bodies of two stabbed men were found in a terrace house.

The two dead men, who are believed to be of Portuguese origin and are both aged in their 30s, were discovered at a property in Dunster Road, Knowle West, Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Police received a call to the house from a member of the public at just after 5am today.

Officers arrived to find a woman, who is also believed to be of Portuguese origin and is understood to have lived at the house, walking around in the street outside.

The two dead man were found with knife injuries inside the house, which contained a number of bedsits, and a 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene, police said.

It is believed he was also a resident at the house and he was due to be interviewed by detectives later today.

It is understood that the woman and the three men were all known to each other.

The woman is being treated as a witness and was at a police station today, although not in custody.

Police have refused to say whether they are looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

The deaths are officially being treated as suspicious, but a murder incident room has been set up at Broadbury Road Police Station in Bristol.

A Home Office pathologist was expected to carry out a post mortem on the bodies, which were still at the house, later today.

Police are not yet confirming how the men died, their identity or their nationality.

House to house inquiries and forensic investigations are currently being carried out and the area has been cordoned off.
