Muslim rebels kill 12 in Philippines

Muslim rebels ambushed a vehicle on Mindanao island in the southern Philippines today, killing 12 people and injuring nine, the military said.

Army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Lucero said Moro Islamic Liberation Front rebels were believed to be behind the attack on a vehicle owned by a Canadian company. All the victims were Filipinos.
