Americans held in al-Qaida swoop

Pakistan police have arrested nine suspected al-Qaida operatives, including two Americans and one Canadian.

The two Americans and one Canadian are of Pakistani origin, said Information Minister Sheih Rashid Ahmed.

Pakistan Television reported an exchange of gunfire during the arrest.
