Australians told to watch out for kangaroos

Thousands of Australians planning Christmas holidays have been warned to be on the look out for kangaroos and emus hunting for water near Outback roads.

Record numbers of the creatures are gathering around townships in remote areas in search of water and food as drought destroys the pastures where they normally feed.
